After Care

Henna Brows aftercare

Note: Brows will appear darker on the first day, but they will start to fade gradually.

  • Avoid using makeup and facial cleansers around the brow area for the following 24 hours.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 24 hours.

  • Avoid exfoliating and using anti-ageing products around the brow area for at least two to three days prior to and post treatment.

  • Avoid using any self-tanning products on the face for two to three days after the treatment.

  • Avoid the temptation to over touch the brow area after a treatment. Touching with fingers can lead to oils entering open pores and clogging them.

Lip Blush aftercare

Expect light to moderate swelling for the first several days, redness, tenderness, puffiness and in some cases bruising. You may gently ice the area using very light pressure on the skin.

Avoid the sun, tanning, facials, swimming, heavy sweating and whirlpools for at least 5 days. It’s VERY important to keep the lip area clean as to avoid infection.

If you feel the area has come in contact with anything that may compromise healing you will need to cleanse the area -with a cotton pad and a small amount of Witch-hazel.

You will experience approximately 50% loss in pigment color during the healing process.

It is important to follow these instructions to avoid unnecessary loss in color. As lips heal its normal for them to have an uneven in color tone, and sometimes as if there is no pigment left at all.

It will take a full 4-6 weeks for even color to emerge. This is a process and requires some patience. If any color is lost, the touch up will address this.

Ensure to apply a lip moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher to bring back color as well as protect them from prematurely fading.

Try to keep lips in most natural state for 3-5 days.

Don’t pull, open super wide, smile really big, etc. Cut food into small pieces.

DRINK from a straw for the first three days

DO NOT eat spicy or piping hot foods or drinks for 3-5 days

DO NOT eat/drink citrus for 3-5 days

If you have ever had a cold sore/fever blisters/herpes (even if it was many years ago), you MUST contact your doctor or dentist for a 7-day prescription for Valtrex to start 3 days prior to your appointment. Lip blush tattooing can cause cold sore flare-ups which inhibits healing. Even if you have never had a cold sore, the virus can lay dormant so taking Valtrex is recommended regardless.

There is a difference between Lip Blush and Lip Neutralization healing process!

For Fitzpatrick 4, 5, 6 it takes longer for color to bloom, it can be 3-4 or more months for final result, depending on how dark the hyperpigmentation on your lips.

Be patient though the process.

Tattoo aftercare

  • From the moment your tattoo is finished, the healing process begins. Within the first 24 hours, you’ll notice a range of possible changes. You may see strange-looking fluid oozing from the bandage or tattoo – this is your blood plasma and some extra tattoo ink. Your skin will also usually be red and sore. It might feel slightly warm to the touch. These are all good, normal reactions.

  • Once the bandages come off within 24hrs: Use a mild, fragrance-free soap such as Dove, Dial, and Neutrogena with lukewarm water. This will gently wash all excess blood, ointment, ink, and plasma from your tattoo. Only use your hand – DO NOT use a washcloth or loofah as they can harbor bacteria. If you are not sure which soap to use, read the ingredients. DO NOT REBANDANGE, allow the tattoo to breathe.

  • Apply a thin layer of CeraVe lotion or Aquaphor 3 times a day for the next 3 days. After 3 days, until the area is fully healed. Continue to wash & moisturize at least once per day.

  • Products to avoid during the initial healing process:

    Alcohol.

    petroleum.

    lanolin.

mineral oil, such as vitamin A or D.

    parabens.

    phthalates.

    fragrances.

  • Stay out of sunlight and tanning booths until tattoo is healed, at least 7-10 days.

  • Do not soak tattoo in tub, sauna, Jacuzzi or go swimming while your new tattoo is healing. Showers are fine.

  • Do not rub or pick the treated area while it is healing. Loss or color and/or infection could occur.

  • Extreme sun and exposure over the years can and will fade your tattoo. This can be minimized by using a strong sunscreen, at least SP25.

  • Your tattoo should heal in 2 weeks.

  • Consult a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: redness at site, green/yellow discharge (foul smelling) and/or fever.
